"Oh Lord God, deliver us in Thy due time from the little narrow prison, almost as it were, total darkness of paper, pen and ink and a crooked, broken, scattered and imperfect language."

-Joseph Smith

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?"

- Martin Luther King Jr.

The Gods we worship write their names on our faces, be sure of that. And a person will worship something, have no doubt of that either. One may think that tribute is paid in secret, in the dark recesses of his or her heart, but it is not. That which dominates imagination and thoughts will determine life and character. Therefore it behooves us to be careful what we are worshiping. For what we are worshiping, we are
becoming.

Mommy's Little Ponies & Faithly Scriptures

Kids are so fun when it comes to linguistics. I just have to tell these two little stories because they are so cute. First of all, Maillie loves "My Little Ponies" movies and is always wanting to watch them. When the kids are choosing a movie Maillie always announces that she wants to watch "Mommy's Little Ponies." I've heard her do this numerous times and thought it was cute and that she just misheard the title. One day I decided to correct her. I said, "No, Maillie, it's called My Little Ponies." She then announced to everyone again, "Ya, I want to watch that one, Mommy's Little Ponies." We had a good chuckle when the light finally turned on and we realized she wasn't mishearing the title but misunderstanding it. So cute. She still calls it Mommy's Little Ponies.

Andrew doesn't do this anymore but for quite a while after he started learning English he refered to the scriptures as the "faithly scriptures." We'd gather together for family circle (song, scriptures, and prayer before bed), and Andrew would ask if we were going to read the "faithly scriptures." Not exactly sure where it came from but it was cute while it lasted.

My guess is "faithly" scriptures is family scriptures. This coming from the father of a batch of mumblers and stumblers.

James dropped a comment on my blog and I was so excited to see what was happening in your lives. Great to hear about your eldest's baptism. Congratutions to you, but mostly to her for making a fantastic decision to follow the Savior.

Cute. I love when they say things like that. Eli sings the rap song "Riding Dirty" but has only heard Weird Al Yankovich's version "White and Nerdy" So we always get a cross between the two, "White and Dirty". Whatever right.
