"Oh Lord God, deliver us in Thy due time from the little narrow prison, almost as it were, total darkness of paper, pen and ink and a crooked, broken, scattered and imperfect language."

-Joseph Smith

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?"

- Martin Luther King Jr.

The Gods we worship write their names on our faces, be sure of that. And a person will worship something, have no doubt of that either. One may think that tribute is paid in secret, in the dark recesses of his or her heart, but it is not. That which dominates imagination and thoughts will determine life and character. Therefore it behooves us to be careful what we are worshiping. For what we are worshiping, we are
becoming.

Maillie had a Birthday!

For those of you who don't know, our little Maillie is a Valentine's baby, so she turned 4 on Feb. 14th 2008. This post is a little late in coming but Maillie had a wonderful birthday. We gave her a Dora "head" that she can brush and do her hair. Maillie loves to do hair. But oddly enough, I think that her favorite gift was the roll of bubble gum that we gave her. When asked what Maillie wanted for Christmas this last year, all we could get out of her was "bubblegum". So when birthday time rolled around, sure enough, all we could get out of her was "bubblegum". She asks for it constantly and would prefer it to just about anything. She also likes "big people gum" and manages to locate it no matter where it's stashed. We love our little Caribbean princess and are so glad she is here to share her birthdays with us. Happy Birthday Maillie!

Happy Birthday Maillie. This grandma will remember that you like gum, but do you keep it in your mouth? Hope so. What a beautiful smile you have. I like that - "Caribbean Princess".
