"Oh Lord God, deliver us in Thy due time from the little narrow prison, almost as it were, total darkness of paper, pen and ink and a crooked, broken, scattered and imperfect language."

-Joseph Smith

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?"

- Martin Luther King Jr.

The Gods we worship write their names on our faces, be sure of that. And a person will worship something, have no doubt of that either. One may think that tribute is paid in secret, in the dark recesses of his or her heart, but it is not. That which dominates imagination and thoughts will determine life and character. Therefore it behooves us to be careful what we are worshiping. For what we are worshiping, we are
becoming.

Who Wants to be a Vampire?

O.k. folks, I will probably be disowned by the Arrington women for my position on this but I have to go with Meg on the Vampire books. Frankly they're just not great literary masterpieces. However, in their defense, I will say that if you are looking for an easy, entertaining read that does not in any way challenge your thinking or teach you new things then have at it. I would put them into the same category as most flicks that Hollywood turns out these days. Just entertainment. Just for fun. They are a bit cheesy at times, a bit heavy on the sexuality, and a bit violent. Hmm, just like most flicks Hollywood puts out these days. Anyway, they are just kind of, whatever. But, I proably will read the last one when it comes out because I do like to be entertained now and then and curiousity compells me to see what Bella and Edward are up to in the final novel. So, fun, but not maybe not quite up to worship status.

I agree. I guess you cannot go into reading it thinking it is good literature. It is just a nice little story. I have also decided that it is not really for young adults. I wouldn't let my teen read them. Anyway.

Totally agree Alita, yikes, not for teens. As if they need to feed the fire in that area.

I also struggled through them. It took me weeks to read them, not days like some people.
My question is, who wants to cuddle up to and kiss and caress a piece of marble, which is what Edward is described as. Couldn't she have made him more cuddly than that? I'm not into "17 year old" emotions. I don't remember my own daughters being like that, and I guess it's been too long to remember my own teenage years. But like the rest of you, I will read book #4 to see how she finally ends it. I'm expecting her to go with the werewolf instead of the vampire :)
